Smoking - the leading cause of cancer

Smoking causes 2.4 million cases of cancer in the United States from 1999 to 2004, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention United States. Specialists say that almost half of the cases of various lung diseases, asthma, cancer of the larynx, oral cavity, esophagus, stomach, pancreas, kidney, bladder and leukemia caused by smoking tobacco. Scientists conducted a study in which they analyzed the reported cases of cancer. Specialists examined data 92% of the American population. The results showed that in those countries where the prevalence of smoking was higher cancer rate fixed higher than in states with a lower percentage of smokers. These results again demonstrated the adverse effects of nicotine on health, said Dr. Sherri Stewart. According to Dr. Matthew McKenna Smoking is the leading cause of various diseases and premature death in the U.S., as well as the main cause of cancer.
