Fruit juice increases the risk of diabetes

Women who want to reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes should eat vegetables and fresh fruit, but avoid excessive consumption of fruit juice, scientists say. The use of three fruits and vegetables daily serving of spinach is, kale and similar green vegetables with a reduced risk of type 2 diabetes. This is the result of scientists as a result of 18 years of research that has been achieved attended by 71,346 women. According to Dr. Lydia A. Bazzano of the University of New Orleans, fresh fruits and vegetables did not prevent the onset of diabetes, if a person had to risk a lot of other relevant factors, such as obesity, but it is a tool in the strategy, to prevent the disease for a total mass of women. Bazzano and colleagues studied the diet of the participants, 4,529 of them were suffering from type-2 diabetes. The women were divided into five groups. Part of the participants ate fresh fruit and vegetables, and some have much juice. The researchers found that eating fresh fruit every day was associated with a reduced risk of diabetes by 18%. While the consumption of green vegetables reduces the risk of 9%. However, for those women who buy a blender or juicer and drink fresh fruit juice or choose daily fruit pulp, the risk of diabetes increased by 18%. As a result of the data, the scientists recommend that women reduce substitute fruit juice for other drinks to reduce the risk of type-2 diabetes.
