Vitamin D does not protect against prostate cancer protect

Vitamin D does not reduce the risk of prostate cancer. This conclusion was supported by American scientists to new research. This study contradicts the results of the past, in which it revealed was that vitamin D has a protective role in the risk of prostate cancer, breast cancer and other diseases. American scientists from the Cancer Institute conducted a study to see whether vitamin D has a protective function aimed to reduce the risk of prostate cancer. Prostate cancer - one of the most diagnosed cancers in men worldwide. The study included 749 men diagnosed with prostate cancer and 780 men without the disease. Participants measured the concentrations of vitamin D in the blood. However, no evidence of a protective effect of vitamin D in the prevention of prostate cancer, scientists have found. Vitamin D helps the body absorb calcium and plays an important role in bone health. Vitamin D deficiency can lead to osteoporosis in adults and rickets in children. But it is doubtful that this vitamin may play a role in reducing the risk of prostate cancer, the researchers say.
