American scientists have found that people with restless legs syndrome (RLS - RLS) the risk of heart and circulatory system is two times higher. Scientists conducted a study, which involved 3,433 people with an average age of 68 years. Among patients with Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS) 7 percent were women and 3 percent of men. The study found that people with RLS risk for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease increases the half. The results remained the same after it identified the following factors: age, sex, race, body mass index, diabetes, high blood pressure, smoking, etc. The study showed that the increased risk in people with severe symptoms of RLS compared to those with symptoms were less pronounced. After Vinkilmana (Winkelman) results of the study could not demonstrate that RLS causes cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease, but there is the potential for such a risk. Scientists believe that many people with RLS do, about 200 to 300 leg movements of sleep, and this leads to high blood pressure and stress on the heart, which in turn can lead to a long-term cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.
