Manifestations of autism are the gender differences

Girls suffer mild form of autism, difficult to diagnose the disease than boys, according to scientists. The study included 493 boys and 100 girls. All participants had some symptoms of autism. Experts noted in the field of psychiatry, that during the study, the girls showed fewer signs that are traditionally associated with autism. The results showed that the prevalence of autism have been missed in girls due to lack of standard symptoms and misdiagnosis as a result. Be in the diagnosis of gender differences not as patients, as it turned out, an important factor, said Professor Simon Baron-Cohen of Cambridge University. Among the boys diagnosed with autism is 4 times more often than girls, but the most likely doctors simply not to make an accurate diagnosis of the girls so that they are much less in patients with the disease, scientists say. We need new methods and approaches in the diagnosis of autism, as gender, lifted the authors.
