In Ukraine, 1.2 million people suffer from mental disorders

According to statistics, about 1.2 million Ukrainians suffer from various mental disorders. Psychiatrist Iryna Pinchuk said that apply 2.5% of Ukrainians and get psychiatric help. Of these 72% - people with so-called "borderline", not psychiatric disorders - the "depression, neurasthenia by stress, organic disorders," 18% are severe psychiatric disorders, especially schizophrenia and others. About 9% - people who suffer mental retardation. According to WHO, in 2007, officially in Ukraine 155 thousand people who suffer from schizophrenia, 50 thousand people, who suffer from depression and neurotic disorders registered - 159 thousand people. According to experts, people who try to access all physicians - internists, family, neurologists are using non-traditional methods of treatment, because no prestige now turn psychiatrist. This in turn is very dangerous because as undertreated depression leads to suicide.
