In patients with breast cancer and low levels of vitamin D in the body significantly increased risk of tumor progression, including death, compared with women whose vitamin D levels are normal, scientists say. Scientists have the study, which was attended by 512 women, whose average age was 50 years. The study lasted 12 years. It turned out that more than three quarters of women with breast cancer suffer from a lack of vitamin D. Researchers found that women die with vitamin D and breast cancer by 94% higher risk of tumor progression and 73% greater chance of the disease. According to Dr. Pamela Goodwin of the hospital in Toronto, although there is a clear correlation of vitamin and extent of the disease can, but vitamin D is simply a marker for a healthy lifestyle. The scientists pointed out that the production of vitamin D is in tan or with food is an important factor in maintaining strong bones, and thus prevents the development of osteoporosis.
