Boosting testosterone in older men, we can save him from depression

Older men with low testosterone levels tend to depression, the researchers say. Scientists have the study, which was attended by 4,000 men aged 70 years. It has been found that men are three times more at risk for depression with low testosterone levels. Although these men were at the front of this holiday in different countries (eg rest in Israel), took place above the correlation between the level of testosterone and depression. The study also found that women under 65 are more prone to depressive state than men, up to the moment when gender differences almost disappear. Testosterone levels change with age. Australian team of scientists analyzed blood samples from 3,987 people over 70 years who participated in the experiment to determine their emotional state years. Total of 203 participants were identified depression. They had found low levels of testosterone. Scientists have found that men with testosterone less than 20% or three times more to depression than those who have hormone levels more than 20% mark tend. Scientists believe that further work should serve as a confirmation of their assumptions. But this work is already allowed to assume that the increase in testosterone levels in older men may be an effective treatment for depression.
